Pillars Hotel Becomes a Doubletree Club Hotel-Buffalo Downtown
The
nation's largest independent hotel management company, today
announced that Buffalo's Pillars Hotel has joined the Doubletree
Club brand, effective November 17, 2003. The 100 – room hotel is
owned by Med Inn Centers of America, LLC, based in Merrillville,
Ind., which invested over one-half million in renovations.

Open Ambulatory Surgical Center in West Seneca
A
nine-suite ambulatory surgical center, one of the largest
centers in the state for outpatient surgery, has opened inWest
Seneca. The $5.5 million project at 550 Orchard Park Road is a
partnership between the C/N Group of Indiana and a group of
local physicians. C/N Group is also a partner in the Physicians
Imaging Center and the Pillars Hotel in Buffalo and the Amherst
Medical Park.

A Chicago-based company has opened its third
diagnostic imaging center in Western New York, a $4 million
facility in West Seneca giving local doctors and patients
another choice for MRI's. The Southgate Physicians Imaging
Center at 4154 Seneca Street opened this week offering MRI, CT
scan and fluoroscopy services. The imaging center is owned by
Chicago-based C/N Group, which has become one of the largest
operators of medical service buildings in Western New York.

Pillars Hotel
to Boost Marketing
After fine-tuning operations for four months,
The Pillars Hotel on High Street showcased early successes
Monday as well as the challenges that face the medical
corridor's first lodging facility. Developers of the $11 million
hotel said weekday occupancy levels are hovering around 60
percent, which is the annual average for downtown hotels.
However, weekend volume has been significantly lower, a sign
that The Pillars must do more to market the site to the
non-medical community.

Operator Chosen to Run Planned Medical Inn
Buffalo's next
hotel, which will be tied to Roswell Park Cancer Institute and
Buffalo General Hospital, will be operated by one of the
nation's biggest hotel management firms. Med Inn Centers of
America
LLC of Chicago said Monday its proposed 100-room "medical inn"
will be managed by Crossroads Hospitality Co., a subsidiary of
Interstate Hotels Co. of Pittsburgh.
